New Temporary Site Up

We have put up a new, yet still temporary version of eBaum.TV. It's much easier for us to update, so we'll be bringing you much more content now. It should also be a little more aesthetically appealing.

We've heard your requests to enable comments and to bring many of the features from the eBaum's World. Please stand by us as we work to get such things implemented. We are working as quickly as possible (if you've noticed, we put up two instances of the site within 24 hours, the same day we were all fired.)

Look forward to great things ahead...

  1. I'm on the edge of my seat. What are you going to steal, I mean publish first?
    ReplyDelete
  2. They do not steal. Everything they've featured is an embed from YouTube.
    ReplyDelete
  3. They steal. And they fail.

    You people are so worthless.
    ReplyDelete
  4. @shellsage

That's not true. EVERYTHING is a youtube imbed? Like the Flash animations, the games, the pictures- all bearing slapped-on eBaum watermarks?

If I ever saw Eric Bauman in public, I'd beat the shit out of him and be happy to do it.
    ReplyDelete
  5. As long as you make a blog section that is a carbon copy of the one at the old EBW and make the comment/reply settings similar, I'd be happy. And to those complaining about eric stealing everyones content: Why are you here? If you don't like the site; leave.
    ReplyDelete
  6. @Fuck

If you ever saw Eric Bauman in public, I'd be standing next to him, and break your arms in three places before you could lay a hand on him.

Besides that, shellsage is right. Everything we've featured on the frontpage of ebaum.tv is a YouTube embed.

  7. I say good work so far! I just threw away my 50" plasma 'cause eBaum is the only TV I need.
    ReplyDelete
  8. I PROPOSE A NEW NAME FOR THE SITE.
    TVbomb

It retains the ebaum sound without infringing any copyrights. And its purpose: to destroy television by creating preferable content.

  9. HAHAHAHA well isn't that ironic? Steal from the internet for 10 years failing to make any original content of your own, berating people who asked that their content be removed, and here you are whining when someone else doe it to you. ah the universe is sweet.

    fuck you eric
    ReplyDelete
  10. So you built your empire on theft and now you're surprised when it all falls out beneath you?

And how does embedding youtube content make for a good site? I suppose if you just toss some ads up around it it'll be just like your old site, except now YouTube is paying for all the bandwidth so you save big on your bills.

Bottom line is you're still building a website on the backs of others, and you're still not giving them credit. Don't be surprised when all this falls out beneath you as well.
    ReplyDelete
  11. What a crying shame. I'm so glad my flash game went to line your pockets Baumann & Co. You know what you did, and so do many others.

As far as they and I are concerned, you are reaping what you have sewn over the past 11 years.

For all the collective pain you've caused, I feel like I can represent the entire Fark.com community by saying: fark you.

  12. What… am I supposed to feel sorry for Eric?

I’ve got an idea for you, Eric. Rochester is a cesspool of overpaid union guidos, lazy schvartzes and shifty-eyed heebs. ZVUE knows that, and they should be commended for terminating you and your band of thieves.

But don’t despair! I’m sure ZVUE paid you in cash and not worthless stock options, and I’m even more sure that you socked your money away in a solid bank and not somewhere in Iceland. So here’s what you should do:

    1. Buy a one-way plane ticket to China. Ripping people off and serving low-quality crap sends you to the ninth level of Hell in most cultures, but in Shanghai they’ll welcome you with open arms.

    2. Buy a hi-def camcorder. Be sure you import it, of course; we don’t want any DV tapes being eaten by a knockoff camera!

    3. Climb up to the top of a skyscraper. There’s lots of abandoned skyscrapers and empty factories, so you’ll have no problem finding a vacant one.

    4. Fire up your new HD camcorder.

    5. Jump.

Have a team at the bottom of the empty building standing by to recover the tape and clean up the entrails when it’s all over. Post the video on eBaum.tv. Make millions.

  13. "They do not steal. Everything they've featured is an embed from YouTube."

How exactly is this NOT stealing?
    ReplyDelete
  14. Here's some content for you, free of charge: www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/ebaumsworld
    ReplyDelete
  15. @Reyo

HE'S FUCKING STEALING CONTENT. That isn't solved by us leaving. That's solved by some big shitty company coming and buying out all of their shit and then firing them and proceeding to run their stupid, worthless website into the ground. Karma's a bitch, faggots.
    ReplyDelete
  16. We need our own blog section, these faggots are retarded
    ReplyDelete
  17. @UofL We need a moderator. Having our own blog section won't do anything because retards like Evan, Fuck and Olive will just find their way there like they did here. Jennie would make a perfect moderator, but eric and Bug probably can't make Moderators for this new site yet.

@Evan What do you care that he uploads media from several sources and put a logo on them? Do you own the internet? Are you somehow losing money from Eric's proces of obtaining media? It sounds to me like you were one of the butthurt little newbs who had one of his uploads "stolen". It's obvious you don't like the way things are done here and yet you create an entire account for the sole reason of flaming it? How does that make sence? People like me, UofL and dozens of other regular users (which doesn't even include you) like this site for the blog section where we can talk about things as controversial as whether the war in Iraq should continue to somethings as small as talking about how shitty our day was. We don't see little shits like you as "intelligent" because all you do is try and look badass by flaming someone you don't even know or by making yourself seem better than you really are. If you don't like the way things are done here; leave. We don't want you here. The same goes for you to Fuck.
    ReplyDelete
  18. Fuck bauman and fuck everyone that works for him or supports him. I hope your eyes are poked from your head, your entrails ripped from your body and a pack of wild dogs set upon what is left.

Anything left after all of that should be burned. The company was right to do what they did to you and every stroke of bad luck you encounter from here on in is payback for the pain you've caused for the hundreds of thousands of artists and creators you've ripped off over the years.

GTFO my internet Eric Bauman. Your making a living off the hard work of others is over. I hope to see you, soon, pimping out your staff on street corners while living in a trash can, paying drunk people to sing for you, learning the words and begin singing their songs loudly down the street claiming they're your own.

The internet suddenly got a whole lot better. Here's to a new age. Cheers guys!
    ReplyDelete
  19. @Reyo

Because we respect the original creators and feel they deserve all the ad revenue and the credit that Bauman gets for their content. Is it that tough of a concept?
    ReplyDelete
  20. @Ark Then go to the site that originally "owned" the media that eric put up. You can't watch something, sue the manager of the theatre for "stealing" the movie, and come back a week later to watch another movie there. It's hypocratic. You coming to this site to "respect the original creators" is like downloading a song illegally to "respect the original creaters". If you truely wanted to "respect the original creaters", you wouldn't come here, you'd go to youtube, which is where 90% of the uploaded media has comes from so far. So if you're going to come here to gain quicker access to media, stop bitching about where it "really" came from.
    ReplyDelete
  21. I'm loling at how ignorant these haters are. Every website with user submitted content has "stolen" content. Break,Fark, YTMN, youtube, you name it. This is how the internet works now-a-days. If you villanize one, you have to villanize them all.
@Reyo- I would be honored to serve my fellow eBaummers.
    ReplyDelete
  22. @reyo

I don't watch anything on here or the old eBaum's, I just know people with stolen content, and someone linked me to the blog post. It's more like protesting outside a theater after being alerted of their activities. Nice attempt to wrangle the moral high ground though.
    ReplyDelete
  23. Here's a thought everyone. So what if what you wish to happen of Eric and Bug were to come true? Those of you who wished physical harm of him were given the chance to inflict that harm and succeeded, while those of you who wished him jail time got him jail time. That means Eric and Bug are both beat up and in jail. You guys know what this means? It means that there would be no new features and no new additions to the site. Based on what Ark just said, this would be a bad thing because you originally come to this site to "respect the original creaters" (i love that quote), but you idiots forget that without the programmers of this site, who just happen to be the same people you're currently flaming, you would have no media in which to "respect the original creaters". So tell me, how does this sound to you guys?
    ReplyDelete
  24. @ark You just admitted to coming to this site to "respect the original creaters". So while you're here "respecting the original creaters", those "original creaters" are short one view. By sitting here "protesting", which is doing nothing more than earning eric more money and making yourself look like an idiot, you're actually hurting the "original creater" you're talking about.

"Because we respect the original creators and feel they deserve all the ad revenue and the credit that Bauman gets for their content. Is it that tough of a concept?"

Your use of the work "we" says that you're including yourself in with the masses who both view the media and flame the programmers of this site. All you're doing is making yourself look more like an idiot. Do you really think that by you saying "ERIC STEALS MEDIA" that we'll magically turn around and leave? Do you really? So I tell you again. If you don't like it here; leave.
    ReplyDelete
  25. I never wished physical harm upon him, just said he deserved what happened to him. Some other morons did, but they're just as stupid as you people defending copyright infringement. As I said, I don't watch anything on this site. Without eBaum's World, I'd continue watching the content at the original creator's site, most likely with better quality servers and the like because of the extra ad revenue they'd be gaining. Are you being intentionally thick, or are you really too dumb to understand that not everyone watches the stuff on your website?
    ReplyDelete
  26. Also, adblock and tabs bitch. I disable adblock on sites I support.
    ReplyDelete
  27. Reyo. I can't remember once getting any content from Ebaums or watching anything there for my own enjoyment.

This may come as a shock but, the people that have a problem with Ebaums don't actually use Ebaums. Amazing isn't it?

In terms of stealing copyrighted content, ebaums is stealing the content and profiteering from that. Also most methods of downloading pirated content are methods that don't make any money. Oh sure PirateBay and MiniNova make a little cash from the ads when you go to find a tracker or something but when you're downloading and watching the content, where are the ads?

    No, there arn't any.

PirateBay and MiniNova serve a purpose, they're sites you go to to obtain a tracker for your pirated material. They don't actually provide the material. Ebaums simply takes the original material from other sites and advertises like fuck. All proceeds go in to Eric's own pocket.

And the idiots of Ebaums follow him blindly, yelling his praises and kissing his ass when really, he's done fuck all for anyone but line his own pockets with the gold that should have gone to the original creators.

The guy is scum. Actually no, not scum. A leech, feeding off the creative tallent of others and exploiting other peoples' creativity to make money for himself.

Now, instead of accepting defeat and the fact that karma has just dealt him a bitch slap, the guy sets up another site dowing the same thing. Is he fucking stupid? Does he not learn from his mistakes? Or has he transformed in to a leech so far that he's forgotten how to be human, only knowing how to exist and live his life in this way?
    ReplyDelete
  28. You can't watch something, sue the manager of the theatre for "stealing" the movie, and come back a week later to watch another movie there. It's hypocratic.

Theatres pay a fee to show the movie, and send part of the revenue from the screening to the producer. Something eBaumsworld doesn't do. Asshole.

And the word is "hypocritical." "Hippocratic" is the type of oath doctors take to do no harm to their patients. You fucking imbecile.
    ReplyDelete
  29. @Ark and Kila That still doesn't explain why you guys are sitting here "protesting" the site instead of filling a lawsuit. If you two really had something to argue about, you two would be in court, where this fight actually matters. But instead, you're here making complete asses of yourselves claiming that Eric "stole" media that wasn't your to begin with. It's obvious you guys don't agree with what this site stands for (media for the masses) and yet you make accounts for the website just to flame it? Do you guys want to know what you're actually doing? You're MAKING ERIC MORE MONEY. And with more money, ERIC CAN "STEAL" MORE MEDIA. Eric akes his money based on the amount of activity on this website, which includes the amount of people who comment, make accounts and submit content. You guys aren't "helping" any cause, you're fighting your own cause, which consists of you sticking your noses in other peoples buisiness. So if you're trying to get people away from the site: you're not doing shit. You're just making yourselves look like idiots. If you're trying to lose Eric money: You're just making him more money the more you "fight" this issue. If you're trying to make Eric delete the site: How do you figure that Eric will base an important decision like that on comments made by complete strangers? And if you're trying to get Eric arrested: You'd have a hell of alot more luck hiring a lawer and filing a lawsuit, which will do nothing because the Judicial branch doesn't handle claims of "that guy stealing that guys content". If the "original creaters" were to make this claim, it would work. But insignificant little idiots like you won't do shit to hinder the success of this website.
    ReplyDelete
  30. and dorkman, it's called a metaphor. It's supposed to make the concept of enjoying something and then complaining about it a minute later simpler for people like Ark. And you must be new here because if you were a regular here, you would know that being a Grammar Nazi only makes you look like you have no real argument to stand on. So come back when you have an actual argument, k?
    ReplyDelete
  31. @ Reyo Maybe a big fat lawsuit will hinder his efforts, I believe there are at least three being filed as we speak, well, tomorrow actually. I think you'll find that when the dust has settled on those we'll find that there is no defence for what he has done.
Oh, and don't bother about the "everybody hosts stolen content" argument, some sites do, and some sites don't, I only visit the sites that don't, and I still *shock* PAY for my music, films and TV, so you can't throw that one at me. What you don't seem to understand is that the content on his site was not just stolen, it was watermarked to make it appear that it originated somewhere it didn't. THAT is why the original content owners are so unhappy.
Oh, and before you try to say anything, I am not one of the (many) owners of original content, I'm nowhere near talented enough. On the other hand, I DO know at least seven people who had content ripped off their own personal sites, de-tagged, and passed off as Ebaums originals, and most of them have been talking with people of a legal persuasion. Let's see what you have to say when the suits are flying thick and fast.
    ReplyDelete
  32. @ loony Then you might as well file lawsuits against funnyjunk, and failblog because they've been known to host "stolen" content and pass it off as their own. Why isn't anything being done against them? I'll tell you why. It's because sites like EBW are EVERYWHERE and if all of those sites were to be taken down, half of the internet would be gone along with it. And honestly, I say bring the mother fucking lawsuits on, because they're not going to effect me. I have at least 3 other sites that "steal" content saved onto my computer. And what's the court going to say? That Eric "stole" all of those movies? Do you even know how Eric gets all of those movies? Individuals upload content onto the main site and Eric features them from there. And even the ones Eric features himself were duplicates that Eric couldn't credit to any one individual. I have a feeling that these lawsuits will end up like the claims against Obama being the anti-christ. PS you say you don't visit sites that "steal" media? Based on your opinion, you're visiting one of those sites right now.

  33. http://g4tv.com/attackoftheshow/videos/10611/Ebaums-World-Attacked-by-Attack-of-the-Show.html Loony, if you could watch this short clip it would be much appreciated. It's basically another side of the story that you flamers seem to love shouting over this site. And I hope you realize that when the guy says something about the video ending up on EBW, the video would actually be posted by an individual user of EBW, not Eric himself. Thank you.
    ReplyDelete
  34. It's hard to believe that, post DMCA, anyone would even try to defend Eric Bauman.

Altering (rebranding, in this case) someone else's artwork, without their permission, for commercial gain, is illegal. It's illegal several times over, actually.

There is no one to sue him because there exists no organization like the RIAA or MPAA which could serve him with DMCA takedown notices. This is actually pretty unfortunate.

He built nothing short of an empire off of taking other people's artwork, branding it as having some kind of affiliation with his own site, and then monetizing it. He did this for years. The fact that today a majority of eBaum's World is simple posting up embeded videos and running spammy ads along the side doesn't change the fact that he got that initial audience by acting as if he created content.

When someone submits an original animation to a site like Albino Blacksheep, that's one thing. When someone submits a link to a video on Albino Blacksheep, and then eBaum's World rips the video, brands it, then uploads it, and runs their own ads along side it, that is COMPLETELY different.

My advice? Take this time to actually try to create something. No, looking at the YouTube home page and copying and pasting embed codes is not creating content; even if you have tens of thousands of visitors because of great organic SEO you "earned" thanks to years of content theft.
    ReplyDelete
  35. @ Reyo Yep, maybe I am. However, all the imbedded video on the FP is showing the Yout-ube watermark, which is admittedly a step in the right direction. As far as the other sites you've mentioned are concerned, I don't know why they're not being pursued, maybe it's just a matter of time.
Dont't get me wrong, I've nothing against stuff being hosted, as long as the original authors are credited. Some of the people I know had tags embedded in the animation itself, and other tags in the code, which included urls, so why weren't they contacted, ok, the tags may not have been on the animations when they were uploaded, but they WERE still embedded in the code after being featured. Why wasn't that followed up?
Like I said in the first paragraph, maybe this is a sign that things are changing, if they are, great. I don't have a grudge against anyone making a living, and if things have changed, you may have converted me. All I'm trying to say is be fair with whats published, a little bit of due dilligence will go a long way, and earn you guys some respect.
    ReplyDelete
  36. Edit: Ooops make that "embedded" and "You-Tube" Damn fingers!
@ Reyo Read my posts again, I'm not flaming, just expressing a polite opinion. Thanks
    ReplyDelete
  37. @loony What I'm trying to say is that you shouldn't be blaming Eric for uploading all of the content because it's the individuals who post the material on the site. Now if Eric were to require that the website the material came from be posted as a tag, then that would be fine, but don't blame him for the freaken holocaust. Even before the original site was taken down, Eric was thinking of ways to cut down on the amount of mass uploads. And having the mark on the bottomish section of the screen down count as giving that source credit. If Eric were to be required to call each and every one of the websites that his webgoers get their meterial from, then we might as well make to where we have to call the publisher of whatever book we use in a research paper to ask if we can use a quote in our paper. And I appoligize for lumping you in with the other "flamers". You're one of the 1%, but if I start making guesses at who's flaming and who's posting their opinions, the flamers will leak through and start thinking themselves as "winners".

@ Ark You're assuming we actually LIKED all of the ads that plaugued the old site. And do you realize just how many youtube videos are "stolen" based on your definition? There are hundreds of youtubers who have uploaded dozens of Jeff Dunham clips. Are each and every one of those users Jeff Dunham? Like hell. You're assuming that every video on youtube was created by the individual who posted it. And isn't a bit HYPOCRITICAL (note my lack of care when it comes to grammar (Dorkman)) to say that every video on youtube is original while saying that every video on EBW is stolen?
    ReplyDelete
  38. And having the mark on the bottomish section of the screen *does* count as giving that source credit. (there we go)
    ReplyDelete
  39. @ Reyo Fair points there, something for me to sleep on, I'm off to bed, it's gone midnight here. It'll be interesting to see where this goes, I'll check in tomorrow.

He said he thought you all died (God you are so stupid)
    ReplyDelete
  46. Ok, so... let me get this straight. There was a web site named 'ebaumsworld.com' out there, and the premise of this site was to take content that other people have made and put it all in one place, put his mark on it and then post it on the net; and to pay the bills he sold ad space around all this stuff?

Ok, so... how is this not like a radio station? or a television station?

I think everyone should quit whining, be proud someone got to see your worthless flash gadgets and stupid videos of your dog, and stop being pissed someone thought of putting this stuff together before you did.

BTW: I'm a complete outsider on this one, not really a big fan of ebaumsworld in a pos or neg way. I stumbled upon this from Digg.com and could help but notice what an immature bunch of idiots all of you are. Read a damn book and relax, for fuck's sake.
(Don't bother flaming me, I won't be back here to read it.)
    ReplyDelete
  47. Since when do television or radio stations not give credit to the creator of said content? History tells us that Eric and co. stole content and refused to take it down after being contacted by the creators.

Please keep defending the fact that your idol made a profit off of someone else's work without their permission, and refused to take it down when contacted (yes, even through the nice little link). It's amusing.
    ReplyDelete
  48. Rick, understand this. I'm not being rude here Im stating a fact. Television stations license the material they show, they need the original content creators express permission to show the content. This works well, its how creators get paid.

Mr baumens website does all of this a part from the bit where they contact the content creator and request express permission.

where as a television station earns advert revenue a share of which they then have to pass onto content produces to pay the costs of licensing their content, mr baumen does NOT. any revenue generated on his website stays in his pocket.

And when content creators complain? well on the old site forums the content creators were unceremoniously told to fuck off.

Before you jump down my throat I do acknowledge that ebaum is far from the only culprit of this.

As for other people submitting the content - ignorance does not equal innocence. eg: tvlinks.co.uk got shut down because it was a tvlink aggregating site (its users submitted links to megavideo hosted content). tvlinks.co.uk was in a court of law found guilty because even though it was not responsible for the links the users submitted, the environment it fostered (eg encouraging users to submit content that was not theirs). This is EXACTLY the same issue with ebaums.

Why hasn't ebaum been sued? Well as apposed to my example above with tvlinks.co.uk where it was huge tv companies suing, this is individual flash creators who are not very wealthy - whereas mr baumen has no doubt a fancy lawer on retainer.

Please consider this carefully, and dont just blindly reply - I've taken time to write this in as fair a way as I see possible.

  50. "He said he thought you all died (God you are so stupid)"

So you stating the obvious makes me stupid? How did you get to that conclusion?
    ReplyDelete
  51. It's amusing how everyone fails to realise that they make Eric more money when they use his website to flame him.
    ReplyDelete
  52. Hey, I think I have seen this sight somewhere else on the web .... except not only did all the videos say You Tube, but the header for the sight did too...
    ReplyDelete
  53. @Reyo they only make him more money if they click on the ads. Even in a CPM world, the marginal revenue from serving extra ads to people who never click or block them entirely is near zero. I guess he can buy bottom of the bucket CPM ads for pennies.

In a world where Eric Bauman actually created content or hosted a server, the marginal cost per flamer is probably greater than the marginal revenue from that user... especially the adblocking Digg user.
    ReplyDelete
  54. @Aaron actually, it's not just the ads. The ads do make him money, but he also gets money from activity on his site. My parents have owned (and still own) 4 websites since last year and they earn money based on who visits their websites while earning extra money based on who clicks on the ads.

And even then, by having a "partnership" with google by basing our profiles on google accounts, he's earning money from you mearly existing on his website because of your use of his website through your google account.
    ReplyDelete
  55. PS, To clarify my last thought. Your profile is based on an account you have with google. And since you're using your google account to make comments with your profile, google is paying Eric money because you're using your google account on Erics website.
